Who are we?

Maria International Schools

Maria International Schools is a partner school of the British Council, and a Cambridge International School, accredited by the British Council, the International Organization for Standardization (ISO), and the Cognia Foundation.

Maria International Schools (MIS) was established in 2007 in Jubail, the Eastern Province of Saudi Arabia. These schools were created to meet the needs of the growing expatriate community in Jubail Industrial City.

Maria International School in Jubail includes kindergarten, and grades from first to ninth, in both girls’ and boys’ sections.

The school building is a purpose-built facility designed to ensure a safe and easy daily working environment.

The school’s beginnings were very modest. The number of students did not exceed 43, with a small number of teachers and administrative staff, six rooms in one building, and a small play area. Once the schools were licensed by the Ministry of Education in Saudi Arabia, they began to grow significantly. Over the past three years, the schools have moved to the new campus, which consists of three huge buildings covering an area of over 5000 square meters. According to the regulations of the Ministry of Education in Saudi Arabia, there are separate buildings for boys, girls, and administrative departments. Each building for the boys’ and girls’ sections has been designed and built to provide a safe and healthy environment for students. The schools include more than 64 classrooms, 4 science laboratories, 4 computer laboratories, a library, audiovisual rooms, two indoor play areas, and two outdoor play areas.

The school has a spacious multi-purpose hall, fully indoor, shared between the two sections. Other features of the two schools include a large outdoor playground in the girls’ section, and a smaller outdoor playground for the boys’ section. Football is the main sport in the schools, and physical education, basketball, and cricket are also promoted and encouraged among students.

To ensure the safety of all students and staff, an advanced CCTV system has been installed. A manned security system has also been implemented at entry and exit points to enhance safety. 60% of students use the school-owned and operated transportation system, which consists of 35 new buses covering all areas of the city. Nearly 90% of staff also use this system for commuting. Bus assistants are provided for kindergarten students on every trip they take, to ensure their safety to and from school.
